Review-Agent Vinod, the Bollywood movie starring Saif Ali Khan

Agent Vinod, not too striking by the title, became a bizarre due to excellent marketing and promotional efforts by Saif Ali Khan whose Illuminati Films has produced the movie along with Eros International. The movie, till intermission forces you to introspect your decision of investing time and money on such a flick but the second half of the movie composes you to feel the excitement and entertainment. The music and Saif Ali Khan’s bearded looks along with good action sequences helped the movie run house full shows. “Pungi bajade” is an amazing song which made viewers remain seated even after the movie was over.

The baddies of the 70s and 80s, Gulshan Grover and Prem Chopra were useless and just helped the movie to create a buzz. Saif Ali Khan was stunning in his character of the desi version of James Bond. Adil Hussain in his role of devious colonel was fabulous and striking. Kareena Kapoor in her role of an ISI-agent was dazzling. Sriram Raghavan, the director of the movie failed to create a magnum opus spy thriller.

The first half of the movie keeps the viewer confused throughout as to why the characters are changing locations so frequently but soon helps to realize that it was just a marketing strategy to broaden the horizons of the movie and not the need of the story.

The credit for success of the movie should go to Saif Ali Khan, who, by his style and act, locked the lips of the critics who never took him seriously and treated him as an immature actor with a chocolate-boy image. Saif Ali Khan has done full justice to his role of a spy inspired by the 007 of Hollywood and has paved way for a sequel of the movie successfully.
